Ocular and Tissue Distribution Services
Since 1959, the ILETTB has provided the highest quality ocular tissue for transplantation, research and education. We are the primary provider of transplantable ocular tissue for Indiana surgeons providing grafts for PKP, LKP and specialty cut grafts for DSEK, DSAEK and DMAEK utilizing the Moria microkeratome.
We are currently the only eye bank in the U.S. providing grafts for DMAEK. We also provide Sclera grafts and ocular tissue for numerous research projects annually.
Quality and Service
All of our tissue is of the highest possible quality. We follow or exceed all guidelines set forth by the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA), American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) safety standards.
All tissue will have undergone:
* A stringent Medical History Review
* Medical/Social history interview with the donor’s next-of-kin
* Tissue evaluation with slit lamp and specular microscopy examination.
* Serologic testing
* A full review by our Quality Assurance department
Our Technical Program Director is responsible for all pre-cut grafts utilizing the Moria microkeratome for both anterior and posterior lamellar tissue. We also have an experienced VISX certified instructor available for training and consultation. All of our pre-cut grafts are prepared to the surgeons requirements. We have a Tissue Transplant Coordinator available to assist surgeons and their staff with tissue placement and provide any information about our tissue services.
